Stefan Melnychenko
Biography
Stefan has painted for over 40 years. He graduated from the National Institute of Applied Arts(now the National Academy of Fine Arts), in Lviv, Western Ukraine. He lectured at the National Institute of Applied Arts from 1973 until 1978, and participated in numerous group art exhibitions in Ukraine.
Stefan was an Art Consultant for the State Historical Archives of the Ukraine, in Lviv from 1978 until 1988. He completed numerous unique artworks for a special scientific and methodical museum in this institution.
Stefan has lived in Edmonton since 1990 and has had several solo exhibtions and numerous group art exhibitions in Canada. His artworks include landscapes and seascapes portraits and icons, interior decorations (Bishops Coat of Arms) and a few murals. He works mostly in acrylic oils and oil pastel and also gouashe, soft pastel, colour pencils and tempera media. His paintings can be found in private collections in Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Russia, Germany, USA, New Zealand and Canada.
Most recently, Stefan painted 6 large icons for the church in his native village, Korpets, Ternopil region of Ukraine.

Mitelka Folkloric Theatre (MFT)
Biography
Mitelka Folkloric Theatre offers a rounded dance program to all ages: classical, character, pop, creative, folk and international rhythms. It also creates its own stories through a unique blend of dance, drama and music. Recent productions include, “Ludo and the Star Horse”, “oh, My Canada”, “Swan Lake”, “Celtic Warrior” (Ireland), “A Grain of Rice” (China), “Abiyoyo” (Africa).

Carol has a Ukrainian Bilingual Folk Song Book available for sale as well as some children’s books based on the Ukrainian folk stories they have staged. Carol also has a complete script of the epic musical “Echo of the Steppes” ready for the professional theatre. This was staged in the Peace country in 2006.
Cheryl Moskaluk
Biography
Chery creates light-filled watercolor paintings of Alberta landscapes and native plants so that viewers will be inspired to take a second look at the beauty that surrounds us. Cheryl also writes pysanky as a folk and religious practice.

Marion Mutala
Biography
Marion Mutala has a master’s degree in educational administration and taught for 30 years. With a passion for the arts, she loves to write, sing, play pickle-ball and guitar, travel, and read. Marion has written 16 books to date. She is the author of the National Bestselling, Award-winning Children’s Books, Baba’s Babushka: A Magical Ukrainian Christmas, (Anna Pidrucheny Award 2010) Baba’s Babushka: A Magical Ukrainian Easter, (Shortlisted for Saskatchewan Book Award -Publishing in Education-2013) Baba’s Babushka: A Magical Ukrainian Wedding, (Winner of The High Plains Award -Best Children’s Book -2015) and Kohkum’s Babushka: A Magical Metis/ Ukrainian Tale. Fr. Bo (Bohdan) Nahachewsky
Biography
Fr. Bo (Bohdan) is a consecrated iconographer and full time priest who writes traditional Icons using Egg Tempra and 24 K gold leaf. These sacred images are used in churches, schools and homes across western Canada. Fr. Bo also teaches workshops for adults, as well as school workshops for all ages.

Iris Olinek
Biography
Iris recently retired after working at the Ukraine Cultural Heritage Village, where she was involved with developing and demonstrating interpretive programming. This included pysanka demos, ritual bread demos and all Ukrainian Canadian traditions. As well, Iris was involved with recruiting volunteers. Iris has now added quilting, knitting, sewing and making greeting cards to her list of artistic abilities.

Patricia Ann Rawnsley
Biography
Patricia was born and raised in the vast landscape of Northern Alberta and is a proud Albertan with Ukrainian Heritage. Her interest in arts and crafts as a youth grew into a passion to learn as much as possible about the art world in general, and about oil painting in particular. She is a proud member of the Alberta Council
for Ukrainian Arts, as well as several clubs in Calgary, including the prestigious Calgary Sketch Club, the Group Artists Society of Calgary and the Calgary Creative Arts Guild (CCAG). She also sings with he Korinnya (Roots) Ukrainian Folk Ensemble and has performed recently at the Edmonton Heritage Festival and the Ukrainian Cultural Village.
