For 30 years, the Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts (ACUA) has been supporting and promoting Ukrainian art and culture in Alberta. Our organization is run by a volunteer council who are keen on promoting all Ukrainian art forms and Ukrainian culture to communities throughout Alberta. Our office and gallery and artisan boutique are located in Edmonton. Through educational programs and workshops, bi-annual art and culture magazine, exhibits, tours, festivals, and special projects, ACUA brings Ukrainian artists and Ukrainian art forms to the greater community.
Summer Program Coordinator
30 hours per week
Hourly pay to commensurate with experience
Purpose and Responsibilities
The Summer Program Coordinator will:
- Work on a number of projects throughout the summer that will assist ACUA in achieving its programming goals.
- Provide administrative support to the Program Manager and Gallery Assistant.
- Work in the Gallery and the Artisan Boutique providing customer service and maintaining an online inventory.
- Assist in the coordination artists to demonstrate, lecture, and instruct for Ukrainian Day and ACUA Annual Workshop Series.
- Assist the Gallery Assistant in coordinating and implementing the Ukrainian Vintage Fair.
- Developing and assisting in the layout of one issue of ACUA Vitae.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Ukrainian art and culture an asset.
- Excellent communication skills and proficient in speaking and writing English.
- Highly detail orientated, organized, and reliable.
- Demonstrates creative skills and ability to think outside the box.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience using Mac operating system and design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
