Lada Tsymbala
Lada Tsymbala is Associate Professor in the Department of History and Theory of Arts at the Lviv National Academy of Arts, where she teachers an array of undergraduate and graduate courses on the theory and history of art design, histories of dress, costume, art fabric, and ornament. Prof. Tsymbala also holds a position of the Research Chair of the Theses and Dissertation Graduate Research Council at the Academy. Prof. Tsymbala’s research interests are in the fields of history and theory of design, ethno-traditions in modern culture, and history and tradition of art fabric. She is the author of a number of publications on the theory of art and design and the decorative and applied art in Ukraine, including gold-weaving in Galicia. Prof. Tsymbala participated at a number of the national and international research conferences, seminars, and international research programs: University of Alberta (Canada, 2017, 2019), Jan Kohanovski University of Kielce (Poland. 2017, 2019), Dresden Technical University (Germany, 2018), and a series of art plein air (Batik, National Academy of Arts, 2018 2019). Prof. Tsymbala also works creatively in the field of art painting on fabric.
