Brenda Philp
Brenda is a textile artist who creates unique and functional felted wearable art. She was born in Fort Frances, Ontario of Ukrainian heritage and moved to Edmonton in 1978 to attend the Music Program at MacEwan University. Her passion for colour, composition and texture are influenced by her lifelong love of the arts and music. Practical by nature, she utilizes traditional techniques and organic materials to produce fun, colourful, and functional wearable art pieces.
Brenda has studied fibre art techniques under Marjolean Dallinga, Jean Gauger, Judith Dios and her work has been exhibited at the Alberta Craft Council, Paint Spot Gallery, and the Stanley Milner Library.
Her studio practice continues to expand and evolve as she pursues new ways to share with others by teaching, presenting and being a positive advocate for the arts.
