Join us this Saturday April 17th for our online Borschivski Embroidery workshops, in both English and Ukrainian.

Learn authentic Ukrainian embroidery stitches from the Borschiv region and create your own sampler using these three stitches.

  1. Bytym
  2. Kolodky
  3. Verkhoplut

If you wish to follow along, here is what you will need:

  1. An embroidery needle (blunt end) – mid length with a large needle eye
  2. Small scissors
  3. A natural even weave fabric, a with large holes (about an 22-18 count), so that it is easy to count the threads and see the holes.
  4. It’s best to use wool, that is of medium to thin thickness
  5. Have regular embroidery floss available like DMC embroidery floss, in case you find it hard to work with the wool threads
We will try and embroider simple patterns, if this is comes easy, we’ll progress to more difficult stitches.
