Our hit Ukrainian Fashion Show Threads That Connect returns Saturday September 28 starting at 6:00 p.m.
After our sold out Threads in 2021 we have teamed up once again with our friends at Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre at MacEwan University to bring you another night of Ukrainian fashion, food, drinks, and music. The list of fashion labels on the runway are below.
If you see something on the runway during our Threads That Connect fashion show be sure to attend our Designer Fashion Sale the next day Sunday September 29 at ACUA to buy it before it’s gone. Light snacks and drinks will be served. Change rooms and mirrors will be available to try clothes before you buy.
Saturday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m.
Allard Hall at MacEwan University
Hosted by Lorraine Mansbridge and Roman Soltykevych
Lorraine Mansbridge is an Edmonton broadcasting veteran. She first joined ITV (now Global Edmonton) back in August 1982. For more than a decade, Lorraine produced and hosted “Good, Good Morning” and “Edmonton Live”. She then went on to anchor and produce on-location segments for Global’s Morning News, introducing viewers to the people and places that make Edmonton special. Lorraine now travels extensively with her husband. A devoted “gym rat”, she loves to work out and is a rabid lover of chocolate! She is delighted to be co-hosting Threads That Connect because in her next life she wants to come back as a full–fledged Ukrainian! She admires and loves your sense of family and community! Budmo!
Roman Soltykevych is a long-time performer within Alberta’s fine arts community as the piano accompanist for the Yavir Ukrainian Male Chorus of Edmonton and as an alumnus of the Volya Ukrainian Dance Ensemble. Over the years, he has volunteered on the UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival organizing committee, the Plast Ukrainian Youth Association, the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union, and as an election observer in Ukraine. He is passionate about advancing the interests of the Ukrainian community in Canada as a director of the Taras Shevchenko Foundation.
