Traditionally, this counted thread embroidery technique has its roots in Norway. However, it Is a technique being done in Ukraine. It is a form of cutwork, but differs from vyrizuvannia, Ukrainian cutwork.

For the class, traditional 22-count Hardanger fabric will be used. First, samples of the basic stitches will be worked: satin, buttonhole, woven bars, eyelets, and more. These will then be applied to start a small doily.
