Kutia is the most ritual dish of Ukrainian Christmas Eve cuisine. This demonstration will give a short introduction of the symbolism and reverence of kutia served on Christmas eve. Included is a discussion on different wheats, tips, and demonstrations in preparing the various ingredients to make your kutia special. Preparation of other components of kutia , such as the poppy seed, ground/chopped nuts and raisins will also be shown. Perhaps not quite like Baba prepared, but you can make your own family tradition of kutia!
