Ukrainian settlers brought with them a wide range of traditional knowledge and practices, allowing them to settle the land, survive, and prosper on the Prairies.
Join author and instructor Michael Mucz to learn and discuss how native and horticultural plants were grown, harvested, and used in Ukrainian settlers’ everyday lives. Topics of discussion will also cover homestead gardening practices, garden crop storage, and plant preservation techniques used in the historical period of the first and second wave of Ukrainian immigration to Western Canada.
All online lectures and workshops will be hosted on Zoom. Joining instructions will be emailed to you 2-3 days before the lecture or workshop.
