VITALYI BULYCHEV EXHIBITION CATALOGUE

LARYSA LUCIW EXHIBITION CATALOGUE

Our next Signature Artist Series exhibition features the photography of Vitalyi Bulychev and Larysa Luciw.

Vitalyi Bulychev’s work is comprised of documentary photography, shot with 35mm B&W as well as colour film stocks. His photographs are organized around ‘city’ and ‘countryside’ themes, depicting rural scenes in the Kosiv Raiion, and Mount Dragobrat in the Carpathian Mountains. The city scenes are taken from Chernivtsi, Ivano- Frankivs’k, Lviv, and Kyiv. His work reflects his relationship with Ukraine, a country he was born in, and a country he now experiences only as a visitor.

Larysa Luciw’s work is more focused on diaspora life in Alberta, Canada. Her favourite things to photograph are abandoned homes and buildings, and much of her work focuses on documenting forgotten places and objects, as well as Alberta flora and fauna.

The exhibition will also include a video installation from Vitalyi titled Klatka, a portion of a work-in-progress documentary film Legendy Sela Tiudova (Legends from the Village of Tiup).
