Valeriy Semenko
Valeriy Semenko was born in the picturesque part of Western Ukraine, Bukovyna. Valeriy began his art education from the School of Fine Art in his hometown of Chernivtsi, Ukraine. Years later he graduated from Ivan Fedorov Academy of Publishing, Faculty of Graphic Arts.
He worked as an Art Director at the Leo Tolstoy Publishing Amalgamation and achieved numerous international and local advertising projects. For example special promo package for an international space flight” Antares”, art catalogues, posters, invitations, brochures for numerous exhibitions in Germany, France, Lithuania and Ukraine. He also participated in EPICA, France;s Europe Premier Creative Awards with 8 automotive advertisement. He placed third place in the Ukrainian Top Ten automotive advertising.
“I believe in doing anything to the best of my ability, otherwise it is not worth doing at all. I continue to search for new means of artistic expression, find something new and fresh. All of my life I have been fascinated by the beauty of nature and I have tried to reproduce this beauty in harmony to my painting’s surface.”
Valeriy has participated in a number of group and solo exhibitions. His artworks are in private collections worldwide. The Art and Design in Pulbic Places Program in partnership with The Downtown Business Association were unveiled The Sir Winston Churchill Square Banners Project. One of his work was selected for a permanent exhibit, Edmonton 2008.
He also participated in art show and sale in the annual Art Walk Street Festival on Whyte Avenue in Edmonton. Valeriy is a member of the Union of Advertisement Makers of Ukraine. Currently he is an art instructor for Barvy Art Studio in Edmonton, where he resides with his family.
