ACUA & URDC Awards for Ukrainian Art in Alberta
BACKGROUND
Established through the Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts (ACUA), a province-wide organization to mark its 25th anniversary in 2011. ACUA’s objective is to educate the public about the Ukrainian arts and their development and growth.
VALUE
$500 (Awarded annually to one individual or group).
CONDITIONS
This award is available annually to any qualified applicant (individual or group) who, through an exhibit, tour, festival, educational program, or special project fosters a greater awareness of Ukrainian arts in Alberta.
Works in progress and/or recently completed works will be considered.
Applicants must submit a portfolio and/or visual or audio sample of the Ukrainian art being promoted, along with a written proposal outlining the intended exhibit, tour, festival, educational program, or special project. Limit of one submission per applicant per year. Applicants may not be employed by ACUA and anyone who is a family member of the applicant cannot sit on the selection committee.
Successful applicants must acknowledge the assistance of “Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts” in all promotional materials and productions of the project for which the award is granted. Award recipients are required to submit a brief written report to ACUA within one year of receiving this award.
Awards will be adjudicated by a selection committee. If there is no qualified applicant in any one year, the award will not be given for that year.

APPLICATION DEADLINE
Applications must reach ACUA no later than 4:00 p.m. November 30 (annually). Award recipients will be contacted. If an applicant requests submitted materials to be returned, a pre-paid self-return envelope must be provided.
